February 2020, Winter fieldworks in Ballygowan, Oban

Geovia completed ground investigation works for a bespoke ‘stilt house’ to be situated in a fantastic location on moorland above Oban.
The project has a combination of challenging terrain, peat soils and seasonal heavy snow that demanded careful consideration for site access and egress, while keeping overall surface disturbance of the site to a minimum. Ground conditions also require a bespoke foundation design.
