Nick Matheson, Director

Nick is a Chartered Geologist, Director and co-founder of Geovia Ltd. He has over 20 years of experience in geo-environmental engineering, including project design and management and interpretative reporting relating to geotechnical, environmental and mining appraisal of ground conditions. Along with Robin, Nick is responsible for managing and steering the business but remains highly involved with the delivery of our day to day projects.

Robin Wilson, Director

Robin is a geo-environmental engineer and Director of Geovia Ltd. Robin has over 20 years of post graduate experience in geo-environmental, geo-technical and mineral stability assessment of brownfield land throughout the UK. Robin works with a flexible, disciplined and motivated team of engineers that give concise tailored advice to a range of clients, including civil and structural engineers, private developers and public bodies.

Ross Kirk, Associate Geo-environmental Engineer

Ross joined Geovia in 2008 after graduating from Heriot Watt University with a degree in Civil Engineering and completing an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering jointly hosted by Glasgow University and Heriot Watt University. Ross has developed a broad skills base throughout his career, including mineral stability investigation, geotechnical assessments and environmental risk assessments.
Ross is experienced in coordinating large investigations for power infrastructure projects across Scotland and can be called upon to offer well thought-out and cost effective advice and solutions covering a wide range of geotechnical problems.

Sharon Malloy, Associate Geo-environmental Engineer

Sharon has more than 10 years experience in geo-environmental and hydrogeological assessment of residential, public sector and industrial development sites throughout the UK. Sharon has a degree in Geology from Queens University of Belfast and an MSc in Environmental Biogeochemistry from Newcastle University.

Since joining Geovia in 2009, Sharon has managed teams of engineers and contractors on projects ranging from the redevelopment of disused jute mills in Dundee, to groundwater risk assessment modelling of highly sensitive aquifers in the south west of Scotland and detailed human health risk assessment modelling on a variety of sites.

Sharon’s diligent approach means clients can be assured that a detailed assessment of a development site will be presented within a tightly controlled budget and to the required timescales.

Alastair Marcham, Associate Geo-environmental Engineer

Alastair studied geology at the University of Edinburgh and has +12 years of experience in the design, supervision and management of geo-environmental investigations of brownfield development sites throughout the UK. Alastair’s experience includes environmentally sensitive works within operational landfill sites as well as intrusive ground works within live gas and electricity compounds.

Alastair is experienced in a wide range of ground investigation techniques and instils high levels of client confidence through clear and effective communication.

Stephen Adshead, Graduate Geo-environmental Engineer

Stephen holds a degree in geological sciences and joins Geovia as a Graduate Geo-environmental Engineer.  Stephen’s roles include carrying out a variety of post fieldworks monitoring and testing, supervising fieldworks and preparation of factual and interpretive reporting.

Sarah Matheson, Accounts Manager

Sarah works part-time for Geovia having previously worked for Accenture and Royal Bank of Scotland. Sarah is responsible for the office and company administration and also the contact for all account queries.
